The happiest place on earth

Downtown Disney!

It is a tradition for my friends and I to visit Downtown Disney each year that we visit Orlando.
Getting into the park/shopping area is free and there are so many lovely people to meet and some fun things to do.

And of course we bring the babies!

We barely enter the park before excited and curious people are swarming us to see the babies! These three ladies just could not believe their eyes.

We love making people smile and on this particular visit, the reoccurring comment was "You have made my day". What joy! What is life if we cannot bring happiness to other people?

During the breaks between visiting with people from around the world about the dolls, we use the wonderful props of Downtown Disney to take pictures.

Here Stig struts his stuff in the Harley shop:

And we buy wonderful things for our dolls. Stig is Mr. Cool now in his new pair of aviator glasses:

I did not buy Molly the ears (I just borrowed them for the picture~LOL) but she did get her very own dolly...complete with red hair!

Hehehehehehe...Stig is such a card! He didn't get the hat but he did get the Tigger.

Molly was "Pixy Dusted". I will have glitter in my luggage and in the nursery now for years to come! (you can't really see the glitter in the picture though)

For the last couple of years, they have been building the T-REX diner. We have watched with excitement and anticipation. Finally, the diner was open! So skipping our traditional lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe', we enjoyed a delightful lunch at the T-REX.

We were sat in the Ice Cave where this giant skeleton lives. I think this picture is so cool!

The waitress mentioned that Nemo and Dory were living in the fish tank in another section of the diner. Oh my gosh! I had the excitement of a little child! I adore Nemo and Dory so hurried over to see them. (I know it is not REALLY Nemo and Dory but my excitement was refreshing anyway!) I don't know what happened to my picture of Dory but she IS in there.

That giant octopus actually moves!

A wooly Mammoth:

Fire surrounds the kitchen!

This huge beast greets guest as they enter the diner. Of course she is fully mechanical and is protecting her young.

We placed our babies in the rocks surrounding our dining table. It was hilarious to watch people walk by and try to figure out why the babies were up on the wall! Some came by to ask if they were a part of the display of the diner.

After wonderful lunch, it was back out on the streets. I LOVE Mr. Potato Head and delighted to find so many in one shop. Of course seeing Woody watch on was fun too!

Many of the shops have areas where you can actually play with the toys. In this shop, there were tables of Mr. Potato Head parts that children could play with.

After a delightful day, we headed back to the hotel to pack up to end our journey and go home. Of course we cannot take ALL of the babies to Downtown Disney but maybe we should have hired a babysitter as we found these two getting into mischief when we returned. They know they are not allowed to use the computers!

The memories of IDEX and Downtown Disney will carry us through until 2012 when we shall again return to Orlando. As fast as this year is already going by...it won't be long!
