Infectious Joy! Her video is live!

Oh my gracious did I ever have fun filming this one!
She IS infectious joy!

Last night, of course AFTER I filmed Joy's video, I finally learned how to turn off the sound on my video camera!  The next video will be even better  :)

Joy's kits are in stock now and ready to ship.
Click on the link below to go to Joy's order page.
If you are in another country, there is a button at the top of the page labled
"Find a Dealer" which will direct you to a shop in your country, or close to it.

I will be getting Joy's photo's auction ready and placing them onto my new template  :)
and up she will go onto eBay.
I'm so excited to offer her.  She is such a joy!

The batteries are charged and Joy is done!

This has seemed like a long labor but finally, all of the artwork is finished on Joy!
She's not really put together yet but here is a sneak peek:
I will spend all day today putting her together, doing her video and completing her photo shoot.

Tomorrow I will work on putting it all together and onto eBay with my
NEW template!

I've wanted a custom, just-for-me template made for years now and I finally took the steps, hired a talented gal and got it done!

I'm excited to show it all to you!

Have a great Sunday!

Sharing my Collection Friday! Grand baby furniture :)

With having so many new grandbabies around, we have added some furniture to our home.
I have always loved baby furniture and things so I could not help but play a little bit today!

We have this awesome jumper in the living room.
Timmy, although a bit small for it, still enjoyed it!
Molly enjoyed a snack in the big high chair in the dining room:

And this darling walker I was going to buy for Remington who lives on the other side of the state:
But...her mommy said "THAT is WAY too much PINK for us" so...I added it to my personal collection, at least for now.  We still have one grandbaby due in a few weeks and we do not know the gender of that baby.
Joylynne thinks it is very cool!
I have come to realize that I need a bigger boy baby around here  :)

Happy Friday!

Prototype stress!

I have just the top of Joy's head to root.  When I got to that point late yesterday afternoon, it was not going so well.  Ugh.  Some days are just like that.

Let's hope that today is better!  I really NEED to finish her hair today as this baby needs to find her way to eBay.

I fear I have cut her hair too short.   It does have the "just there" illusion that I wanted, but it's curlier than I expected.  Double ugh.

I hate when this happens, especially to a prototype!

Wish me well!

Yuumei loves mohair!

It occurred to me this morning that it has been a full year as of yesterday since we brought my new kitten, now a cat, Yuumei home.
She was about 6 weeks old.
She has been such a joy in our lives!

Last night, I was working with some yearling hair from the goat named "Spice".
Yuumei has seen me work with a lot of mohair but for some reason, she was enthralled with this batch of hair!
I should have taken a video of her antics but the pictures will have to tell the story:

She was so "drugged" by this wonderful mohair (much like an effect of catnip) that she nearly fell off of the couch!

I love this girl.  This adorable picture says it all:

I had nothing else to share today.
Yuumei gave me material...which she does in my private world quite often!

Let's talk about rooting Kid mohair...

A reborning friend of mine told me yesterday that she is rooting with some of my
"Remington Red" kid mohair...and that she loves the hair but is hating the process!  LOL

It is true.  Rooting kid mohair is a whole different ball-game than rooting yearling or adult mohair.

It takes patience.  And more patience.  And MORE patience!

The fibers are super fine, are hard for needles to grab and oftentimes, are hard to root in certain places of the vinyl, just due to changes in the vinyl itself.

But...the results, if done correctly, are always worth the patience it takes to root it.

I almost always root with kid hair.  That is why it takes me so very, very long to complete a doll.

I will be offering a lot of yearling and adult hair on my next mohair offering for those not so brave but I will also have a good selection of the super-fine baby kid hair.

Happy Day!

I am smitten with this little reborn....DOG!

I caught glimpse of this precious little dog by Linda Hill on Facebook.

I have been smitten ever since!
(This photo is one of Linda Hill's/LilyBug Nursery's photos.  I borrowed it for your viewing pleasure)  :)

Isn't Lola ADORABLE?!?!?!?!

And PERFECT?!?!?!?!

Her bids are still low and I am SO tempted!!!

I am back to work today after a good weekend of getting a lot of chores done.
My home and yard feel good right now, but my body does not!  Hahahaha

Today's tasks include combing out some banded and washed mohair, rooting Joy (I'll put in 6 or 7 hours on her today) and I'll bring up the evening with banding up raw mohair.

Mohair is still several weeks out of it's offering but I am working on it!

Have a great Sunday!

Sharing my Collection Friday~Meet Caleb!

I have been wanting a Toby Morgan OOAK (One-of-a-Kind clay baby) for quite some time now.
When this little man came available on Doll Fan, I grabbed him up!
Please meet Caleb.  I believe I am his third "mommy".  He came to the person I bought him from as a girl, but she thought him better as a boy, named him Caleb and that is how I love him too.

Isn't he adorable??

Have a wonderful Friday and Saturday!
I'll "see" you on Sunday  :)

Just a little bit of Joy hair

Remember how I contemplated leaving Joy bald?
My next option was for very sparse, thin, fine hair.

And that is what I am accomplishing using first clip kid hair and a 42G Crown needle, rooting from the cut end of the lock...a lock with only a few hairs to work through.

These pictures show her with a very quick trim and I didn't adjust my lighting much to view the front part of the hair, but you will get the general idea.
(Sometimes I work a bit too late and am rushed when it comes to photos!)

I am about 1/3 of the way done.

Such a sweet, fun baby!

I can't believe this hair is painted!

Linda Moore is an incredible artist.

I already knew that.

But wow...she has blown me away with this painted hair on her Isaac Prototype!!

Can you believe that that is not rooted hair, but painted?!?!?!

I feel like my eyes and mind deceive me!

Just had to share some incredible artwork today  :)

Home from Family Reunion!

My husbands father's side of the family had a reunion over the weekend to which we attended.
What a GREAT time was had by all...we always have fun when the Henshaw's get together.
AND...we spent some good, quality time with our little red-headed granddaughter, Remington.

I've not downloaded pictures yet but I'll be sure to share.  I didn't take that many as I was quite busy playing and cuddling  :)

I'm back to work today...mostly.  My husband is off today so I'll do what I can, and hope to start rooting Miss Joy.

Have a great day!

Joy's paint complete :)

I did a little shopping yesterday via a local sales page on Facebook and could not resist taking pictures of Joy in my new purchase:
Isn't that...and she...sweet?

Here are some more pictures of her with her paint finished.

Joy's kits will be in stock and shipping will begin early next week so be sure to get yours from any of these dealers:

Have a really wonderful weekend.  We are off to a family reunion tomorrow but, if I have time, I'll pop in really quick before we leave to share with you my new OOAK that should arrive today  :)

Hugs!

Was considering bald...

As I began work on little Joy, she kept screaming to me BALD HEAD!

But now that I've painted her
(yes, paint is finished but sorry, ran out of time for progress pics)
I'm not so sure.
I'll take another look at her this morning and see what I think but now I am leaning towards hair.

I got the most AMAZING silicone kit in the mail yesterday!
"Precious" sculpted by Lilianne Breedveld and poured by Claire Taylor.
My gracious, those two are a dynamite team!
Lilianne sculpts SO well with great detail and Claire has to be the best in the industry for pouring.
Every detail is paid attention to, including nice deep nostrils and ear canals.
Oh this baby is going to so life-like when I get her done.
SHE could turn into a HE though  :)

Have a fabulous day!

Joy prototype first WIP pictures :)

As promised, here are her first set of WIP pictures!
She is a JOY to work on!

I will continue today adding blushes, doing more detail on her lips and brows, adding greens, blues and yellows...IF I get that far  :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Babies traveling home...

On Saturday, sweet little Kitten left for her new home.
I will miss this little one but will be getting more of these little FBS from Melissa McCrory.

And today, Big Boy Jake will travel to his new home in Kentucky.

The painting of Joy is going well.
I didn't get pictures of her yesterday as I worked until the last moment of the day that I could work
but I'll get some today for tomorrow's blog  :)

Have a wonderful Monday!

Shipping notification from Clair Taylor!

On Friday, I received a shipping notification from Claire Taylor.
Do you know what that means??
No, it does not mean that I am getting a doll from Claire (POOR ME!!!), but it DOES mean that my
"Precious" kit by Lilianne Breedveld, POURED by Claire Taylor is on the way!

Oh I can't wait!

But I will have to wait because I'm just too busy with other dolls right now.
I suspect that Precious will be one of my Christmas babies  :)

Have a good day!

JOY!!!!

Prototype Joy that is!
She arrived to the nursery while I was at the show and I could not resist playing with her.

Work starts on her today  :)

Happy Hump Day!

Is the show over already??

And was I really gone???
Fun times just pass quickly don't they?  I worked like mad to get ready and I DID get what I wanted ready for the show.  It was all ready and packed up at 10pm the night before I left.

So..big toddler boy "Jake" went along:

Jake is 28 inches tall, can stand with light support and weighs 8 pounds.
He did not find his forever home at the show but found it when he arrived home.
He will be traveling to Kentucky to join many other siblings  :)

I also got the two mini full bodied silicone babies done.
Kitten:

Kitten found her mommy on Facebook right after the show ended.  She will travel home later this week.
I think I need a couple more of those Melissa McCrory 10 inch silicones!  She was so much fun!

Theadore:
His pictures turned out terrible but at 10pm, it was all I could muster up:

Theadore went home with a woman who kept coming back to my table stating that she
does NOT adopt boys!  There was a little wager going on at my table as to whether or not she would
be back to purchase him.   She loved his face and could not resist him.

Here are pictures of my show table.

My DVD ran during the entire show.  People always love that and I always sell some  :)

 Zeke found his forever home!
 Zeke's new mommy's and me:
They are twin sisters who live in the same house.  Zeke will be WELL SPOILED!

 As did Gus.
I don't have a picture of his mommy but he is joining several other siblings in Oregon.
Several people were attracted to Annalisa but she was not adopted.
She is 19 inches long, weighs 4 pounds, 8 ounces and is a vinyl reborn.

Other show pictures:
This is my friend, Sally's, reborn, Lilly, that she brought from home.  I really LOVED this baby and had fun with her.
This is my friend, Becky, spending time with her recent adoption from my nursery.
I delivered Rue Ling  to her at this show.  She loves her to bits.

This is my reborning friend, Stephanie with her new purchase from the show.  She said she just HAD to have her since she was wearing red glasses like her.  TOO CUTE!
Stephanie recently took a painting class from Lara Antonocci, and this is the reborn that she painted in that class.  He was darling!!

 AWE!
And THIS is my show adoption, a tiny, very heavily weighted artist teddy bear  :)
I have a specific plan for her in my collection.
Lilly took good care of her while I worked.
Kitten got a new kitten when I shopped the show floor  :)
It was a great show.  Always is.
Thank you Portland, Oregon and all my friends in the doll world!
