Twinkle Twinkle Little Pixie!

Oh I am just smitten with this little pixie girl!

I do believe the white hair was a good choice for her.

I have debated back and forth between putting her up on eBay or just placing her on my website for direct adoption.

My final decision is to put her on eBay.  There are a lot of people interested in her and the exposure would be good right now since I have a prototype coming up to go on eBay at the end of January.

I'll have her auction ready to go up by 8pm PST tonight.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Just two days left! Sale and New Years Drawing

2012 is coming to and end and 2013 is within our reach!
I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas!

The DVD sale I've had going on in December ends on New Years Day.
They are $14 off and only available at this price from my ArtFire store:

Thank you to those who took advantage of the sale.  I hope you have had time to view and learn  :)

As I've done for the last couple of years, I will again be holding a New Years Day Drawing for $600 off a custom made doll.   This will be the ONLY custom doll that I will do in 2013 so I wish the best of luck to those who purchased a reborn from me in 2012 and who's names will be in the drawing.

I do still have a few dolls available if YOU want to be included in the drawing:

I sure am excited about the upcoming new year, especially the New Years Day Drawing!
I have some glorious mohair to process and make available, my step-son purchased a silicone painting system for me for Christmas so I'll be learning to paint on silicone, I have a new prototype coming in the middle of January (Mikki by Marita Winters~a 20-21 inch baby):

I'll be listing sweet little Twinkle on eBay tonight or tomorrow night,
the Down East Doll Show is right around the corner and I'll be starting a special baby for that here soon (plus others as the months go on), I will be posting a new picture story on January 2nd and I just LOVE a fresh new start to anything!

So, let's do it!

Going on Christmas break~Twinkle not quite done

As much as I tried, I won't have little Twinkle available for "adoption" by Christmas.  Today is my last day at "work"  before my week-long break, and I will only be able to get her artwork finished.

She won't be assembled or have pictures taken until Sunday December 30th.

(I will be on a holiday break from reborning, but my website and ArtFire store will remain open and orders of the reborns that are available, DVD's, color guides and mohair will be fulfilled during this time.)

Have a beautiful Christmas everyone!

Prototype Mikki by Marita Winters

Coming in mid-January:

Prototype kit "Mikki" by Marita Winters

These are pictures of the clay sculpt.  The crack across the forehead is fixed and won't show up in the vinyl kit.

It's been a while since I've done a prototype.  I turned a lot of them down last summer as I was just too busy getting ready for shows and catching up on other work.

I am ready and am excited!

Tis the week before Christmas...

Are you ready?

I believe I am with only a few more little things to do.

Shopping is still happening around the world and last night, Little Rhett found his forever mommy.
He will be under the tree to make a little girl's wish come true.

He is headed on his way this morning as I was able to package him up last night before bed.

I'm pretty excited as I really like this little guy!

Rooting is going well on little Twinkle.  I am about 1/2 done.

Counting the days...

Hugs!

On bended knee

Today is a very tough day for some families in Connecticut.

They are burying their beloved children.

I don't have anything important to share in comparison, so today, on bended knee for these families, I will pray for them and for you, a day of courage and strength.

God bless you all.

Twinkle is painted!

What a delight this one has been to work with!
When I first received the "Tyler" kit by Julie Molloy, I was not really sure what I would do with it.
I'm not a fantasy person so I'm not really inspired by elf's and fairies.

But I am MORE than pleased with how she turned out!
Her paint is finished and I'll begin rooting her tiny head today.  I really hope to finish her this week but we'll see.  I'll be using SUPER fine natural white, first clip angora kid hair so it could take much longer than I anticipate.

Without further adieu, here is the little Pixie fully painted:

I used the Folk Art Glass and Tile medium to give her textured eye brows.  The technique is the same as when using Genesis Matte Varnish, only without the baking steps.  I think it turned out great!
I also used the Folk Art to create textured nail beds.  I like them every bit as much as when I use the Genesis Glazing Gel.

I love Twinkle to bits!  Her new, custom made outfit arrived yesterday...
it's adorable!

Have a great Sunday!

Sharing my collection Friday~Mona Chyle's new body

I purchased solid silicone, Mona Chyle oh, I guess about 6 months ago.

She is such a sweet girl but her body was not that great for her.

In the picture above, you can see that her arms hung down much to low for a full limbed doll.
The body was too short leaving her no room to move or sit.

I measured her and contacted Chelle of Chelle's Babies for a custom made body.
It arrived the other day and even though I didn't take pictures of her "naked" in her new body, you can see by the pictures that she can sit and move so much better.  And her arms are now in the correct place  :)

I love this girl so much!

Sometimes all it takes is a body change, a re-weight, a hair cut or a change of outfit to bring out the best in a doll.

Happy Friday!

See Twinkle now!

I am simply giddy over her!
I will finish her paint today and decide on the color of her hair.

She is melting my heart!

On the technical side of her birth, I have coated her vinyl with the Folk Art Glass and Tile medium, also building textured eye brows and nail beds with the Folk Art G&T Medium.  I am pleased with the results!
I am painting her with Art and Magic Water Borne air dry paints.   I like the paints so much that yesterday I ordered both of the larger sets of paint.  :)

The next baby, my first baby of 2013, will be an AA/Biracial baby painted with these paints.  For her, I think I will coat her vinyl first with Genesis Matte Varnish so that I have a lot of texture as I love to see a lot of texture on AA/Biracial babies.

Stop in tomorrow to catch a peek of a baby in my collection whom I ordered a new body for.
What a difference a new body makes!

Hugs for the day~

Twinkle Twinkle little Pixie!

I am having a great time with this little darling!
The Tyler kit by Julie Malloy has me all giddy!
Yesterday, before I began my work on her, I could not help but to dress her up and take pictures in her blank kit stage!

Oh my goodness....LOVE!

Here are her work in progress pictures after one full, long day.

What is that?  You think that she has quite a glowing beacon for a nose?
Ahh yes, she does and I have a plan with that little nose.
Stay tuned to watch her progress...

Newborn baby Ashleigh ready for adoption

This little girl is so newborn!

And she is ready to go home to a new mommy for Christmas!

The next baby, to be started today is this precious Elf/Pixie Kit, Tyler, by Julie Malloy:

I was measuring the kit for a custom outfit and have fallen in love with that little face!
