Perfect hair match for Poppy!

I finished painting Poppy on Wednesday
(but have not matted her yet).

I could not resist putting all her parts together, tossing a sprig of the hair I created just for her onto her sweet little head and taking some pictures.

I think the hair color and skin tone are a perfect match!

Now to get every last strand of that hair off of her sticky head so that I can matte her today...

Maybe it wasn't a great idea!  LOL

Have a good day!

I miss my camera!!! Poppy update

I had some new windows installed in my laundry room.
I now leave the blinds open and fully enjoy passing through the room, saying hi to my cat, Yuumei who one of the windows was customized for,  and viewing the gorgeous lilac tree that spreads the view from my neighbors yard.

And I miss my camera!
Right now is the perfect time to catch some manual shots of this lovely sight.

I guess there is always next year.

Work on Poppy went well yesterday.

I did some more depth work/building, applied a warm wash to warm her up a bit, worked on her O-so-sweet-lips, and began to apply blush.

I could be very well ready to matte this baby on Wednesday!
We'll just see how today and tomorrow goes.
Again, pictures taken with my cell phone.

She's just so charming!

Slight progress on Silicone Poppy

Gosh it's been quiet around here, hasn't it??

Well, I've had two days that I've worked on both Silicone Poppy and Silicone Jaylee.
There is not much to see just yet and...my good camera battery completely died!

I have other cameras in which I CAN take progress pictures, but with the silicone pieces, since they are usually wet when I am done for the day, are in a place that is like a dark hole to a camera.

With my Canon Rebel EOS 1000D, I can adjust the settings manually and compensate for this photography infraction.  With the other cameras, I cannot do that and it is simply a waste of time.

However, I did catch this picture of Poppy with the Canon before I began her coloring:

And I captured this one with my cell phone when I left work for my "weekend" on Wednesday:
As you can see, there are just slight changes to her tone at this point.

She will be an Irish lass so will have a fair complexion.
Right now, I am working to build a lighter tone and depth.

She is truly a delight to work with!
Claire Taylor did an amazing job pouring this sculpt for Lilianne Breedveld.

I am really loving this one!

Jaylee is coming along well too.  I love her peaceful, sleeping face.

Tavi found a home!

I didn't think Tavi's auction would ever move but, finally, it met reserve and he found a home with a bubbling, loving Mamma that I met at the 2009 Tiny Treasures Doll show in San Antonio, TX.

This delightful lady is also a member of Doll Fan so I suspect I will be seeing Tavi there from time to time as well as maybe in the future.

What a blessing!

Couple days off

Happy Monday everyone!

I began painting the Poppy and Jaylee silicone's yesterday  :)

Things are going well...they didn't start out well as my cat was really testing my patience as she was trying to gain my attention!

I guess she thought I should spend Mother's Day with her.

I am taking today and tomorrow off to attend a class with my husband.

I'll be back to work on Wednesday.

Enjoy the start of a new week.

Friday FUNNIES! ~Norman Helps~

I know....I know.

I said I would share my new dolly with you but...
I wrote a picture story and thought you would enjoy that more today,
the weekend of Mother's Day!

This story is called:

Norman Helps

"Mommy, tan I hewlp you weed da garden?  I is all dwessed in my werk cwothes!"

Mommy sees that Norman IS indeed dressed to work so she agrees to allow Norman to help.

She takes him out and instructs him to pull the weeds, and not the teeny-tiny vegetables that are growing.

"Oh yes, Mommy, I see da weeds and I won't pull da widdle cawwots and beets!"

Mommy is working along and wonders just where her little helper went!
She found him over by the woodpile.

She had to admit that he looked REALLY cute over there, so she stopped to take a portrait picture of him.

Boys will be boys!

She was leading Norman by the hand back to work but then...he saw it!
Mommy's yard sale find from last weekend!

He played with the Tonka for a while but then came back to the garden.

"Mommy", he said, "did you knowed dat if you wook wong enuf at a smawl part of da grwound dat you tan see all tinds of libbing tings?!?!"

Norman helped mommy more in the vegetable garden, but he must have become hungry because he wandered off to the fire pit.
"Mommy, tan we woast some of dem fwuffy white tings dat sometimes caches on fired?"

Hahahahaha, what a cute little guy!  Well, we didn't roast marshmallows this day, but I am sure we will soon.  It was getting late and time for Norman to go to bed.
Mommy tucked him in and finished the weeding of the vegetable garden.
She had to admit, Norman helped her do a pretty good job!

The next day, Mommy...or shall I say, GRANDMOMMY had a little visitor who helped her weed the flower garden and prepare it for flower planting.
I love Norman to bits and pieces but I do believe he has some very, very stiff competition in my grandson, Jarrod!

HE kept wandering off from the work at hand as well!
Even though I gave him a ride IN the Tonka dump truck (his preferred way to play with it), it was the leaky water faucet that kept beckoning him away.  This summer, I'm sure I'll just need to give him a lightly running water hose and he will be a majorly happy camper!

Boys, boys, boys!  You just GOTTA love them!
And I do!

Tavi is LIVE on eBay! Whew!!!

It is completely exhilarating AND exhausting to get a prototype baby listed on eBay.

In fact, it is much like giving birth!  LOL

I am so pleased to announce that darling Tavi survived the photo and video shoot and is now on auction on eBay

When you visit his auction, you may also view his video.

I am pleased that I finally did a photo shoot using my new 55mm lens.
It was a bit of a learning curve but this session went much better than the last time I attempted to use it.

I still relied on my 18-55mm lens for the macro shots and a few of the other shots that I took before I had the idea to try the lens again.

I hope you enjoy all of his pictures.

Here are just a few~the rest are in the auction.

Artists, the Tavi kit is limited to 650 in edition.
The kits are IN STOCK and shipping right now so if you want to create your own little Tavi (this kit is BEAUTIFUL!) you can get yours from either Marita Winters website (link below) or from one of her dealers posted on her website.

Alright!  I am off to new adventures!
Next on the agenda is reborning the Poppy silicone by Lilianne Breedveld along side my sweet little Jaylee.

Be sure to pop in on Friday where I will share my new adoption with you.
We went to the city for shopping last Friday so I didn't have a chance to post about her.

Hugs!
