It's going to be pretty quiet around here unless....

With the two vinyl boy doll on the back-burner and the mohair banding begun, there just isn't much to share unless any of you have any questions that can spur a good topic forward!

My mind feels focused on the task at hand which isn't allowing any other creative spark for topic.

So bring on those questions or even points of interest!

Ready...set...GO!

Falling into fall

No, I didn't take another fall off my horse but I'd say that ride was the introduction into fall.
I love the fall.  Even though my circumstances have left me uncomfortable, I am fully enjoying the slowed-down schedule and cooler weather.

I always anticipate fall as a time to slow down but the last few falls have not proven that fall IS a time to slow down.  My accident gave me that slowed-down gift.
I may never be the same...I have enjoyed this rest all too much!  Maybe I should only work part time??

I'll let my body fully recover before I make that decision.

As I rest in my reclining lounge chair this morning, with lap top in my lap, a heat pack on my back ribs, I can see out the big living room windows to the distant mountains covered in snow.
Ahhhh...I do love this time of year.

I have been able to work longer days~most days~and I have the two baby boys painted and matted that I was working on.  I'll do some eye placements and limb fillings this morning then spend the remainder of this work day banding up mohair.
These boys will wait in line for mohair as I have to process the hair that they each need.

In the meantime, I've spent the last two evenings working on the hair line of Bellamy, the custom order that I took in 2013.  She is looking really cute!

I do love completing projects and attaining goals.
I do love rest.

Hence creates my conflict...

Two tiny silicones

When I began reborning, I just could not wrap my head around the idea of spending a lot of time on tiny dolls.

But then I reborned one...then two...then more and I began collecting mini and micro-preemie dolls and I was and still am HOOKED!

These two precious ones have arrived to the studio and will be patiently await their time to come to life:

This is Min Lee by Yulia Shaver, a mini full body, anatomically correct girl with a ball jointed head.
Pardon the fact that she does not have eyes at the moment!

Weeee...that face!  I so love her!

And this is Tiny Tally by Sherri Williams.
She is also an anatomically correct, full body silicone with armature in her arms AND legs and also in her neck.  She's not ball jointed but the armature in her neck allows for posing.
Sherri always sends her little creations in a beautiful box and with some sort of diaper, hat or bow.  This one came with the tiny hat and diaper!  She's so darling, I'd just like to play with her unpainted!

These girls will be set on the back burner for now as I need to process mohair.

MOHAIR!!!!
I have missed playing in the silky locks.  Let's hope my body can hold out.

Have a great Monday!

Paint bottle storage rack

With so many colors and mediums in the Baby FX line, I just had to find a way to store my paints where I could see them.

This nail polish holder rack works just great!
This one is designed to hold 60 bottles so I have room to grow.

I found it on Amazon for $30 with shipping.

I feel so much more organized!

I can't believe she doesn't have any bids yet but I pray this baby goes to the moon and back for Sylvia!

Wait...what? WHO is this???

I do not think I have given a sneak peek of this delightful little girl for quiet some time.
I took pictures of an eye color change the other day for her "mom" so I thought I would share.

The kit is "Till" by Linde Scherer and the doll has been named Bellamy by her "mommy".

I was almost done rooting her hair when my accident happened.
Now she just waits...

She is a custom order I agreed to do way back in 2013.
Poor baby will be finished some day!

A little progress: Grayson and Liling

Here's a little updated peek.
Still much to do on both of these boys.

Grayson who I am building a ruddy newborn tone on:

Asian Liling:

I'll get a little more done today on these two then I'll be "off" resting until Sunday.
Until then....

Sylvia Manning's incredible silicone toddler!

Sylvia Manning has created the most innovative silicone toddler!

The 6 month size Lilli-Marlaine sits, "crawls" (wait till you see the video!) and is highly poseable.

Oh my!  I cannot wait until the auction for her is up on eBay!
(I will post it when I see that it is up)

Here is the darling video that Sylvia made for her amazing doll:

WOW WOW WOW!

Work in progress~Liling and Grayson

I am working on two skin tones that have eluded me my entire career:
Asian and the ruddy newborn tone.

I like to post work in progress pictures in part to show what the beginning stages of a life-like doll look like as you simply cannot see the end.

These two dolls may seem off color at this stage but hopefully in the end, these beginning layers will shine with radiant tones, true to an Asian baby and a just born newborn with that rich, ruddy tone.

First the Asian, Liling by Ping Lau:

And the ruddy newborn, Grayson by Bonnie Brown:
This vinyl is very, very light/bland and I am challenged!

If all goes well and these babies turn out as I envision, there will be two new Baby FX color guides available  :)

Happy Sunday all!
