No available babies

This time of year, understandably, I get many requests for Christmas babies.

~sigh~

I never seem to be prepared...except for last year, I did have a couple of the
Create a Babies...Created dolls available.

I just sold my last doll the other day that was leftover from the summer shows.

Tiny little Summer's Snow found her home and is making one very happy Mommy for Christmas!

It is my Christmas wish to have prototype Jazz all done and listed in time to get him to his new home by Christmas.

The first of the year will  bring my New Years Day Drawing...of course  :)
And the newborn size silicone "Oliver", along with 2 full body silicone mini's and maybe even some micro-minis!

I will then begin on vinyl again.
Since I want to perfect a color guide for my Ethnic painting class with Baby FX paints in July, I will be offering several Ethnic babies throughout the months.

I will be keeping my eyes peeled for the next full body silicone doll.  As always, I just have to find the right one.

That is my plan anyway....

Hugs!

Updated peek of Jazz

Sadly, I have to set Jazz aside until Monday of next week.
Sigh

I love having family over but I am SO close to finishing his paint!
An artist at heart.  It is my passion.

Here are some pictures before I worked on him yesterday.

Did you notice his spine on this last picture????

It is not an armature but rather sculpted details!
Isn't that glorious???

Oh how I love this little boy!

Hugs!

Red-head Chanel now Kathleen

As promised, here she is!

This is the Chanel sculpt by Joanna Kazmierczak.
She is a cloth body silicone doll with full limbs.

She is my only custom order doll for 2015.  This spot was won during my New Years Day drawing.
It is almost time for that drawing again!  This year has flown by!

Chanel has been renamed by her "mommy" to Kathleen.
And...she has moveable eyes!

It was her "mommy's" idea to leave her eyes unglued so that she could move them for different expressions.

Chanel had very large sockets behind her eyes so I cut foam wedges into balls to fit behind the eyes.  The foam allows just enough squish to allow the eyes to be moved yet holds them flush against the front of the socket.  What a lovely idea!

I also rooted mohair over her painted brows and gave her rooted lashes as well.

It was requested that she have brows that extended into the bridge.  They turned out very nice!

Kathleen is such a sweet heart!

She will be traveling home soon!

First peeks of FBS Jazz Prototype WIP

Oh my, am I ever enjoying painting Jazz!

First I should mention that Jazz, when complete with his head on, weighs
NINE pounds SIX ounces!

I was wondering how I was going to manage this heavy boy while painting and then, I got a brilliant idea...

Karen Valtin had shared her plans for making  silicone drying rack for cloth body silicone parts.

My husband and I made the rack when I first started painting silicone dolls and I do love it for hanging the drying pieces.

I removed the long legs from the rack and used the top part as a rack to lay Jazz's body across.
WOW!  This makes my work so much easier!

CAUTION....NAKED BOY DOLL PICTURE...

Without having to hold this heavy sculpt, my body stays limber and relaxed and I can reach far more places at once as I paint.

When I am finished painting that layer, I can cover my work with a clear storage tub to keep wandering hairs and fuzz off the silicone:

Isn't that great?

Now for those work in progress pictures...

At the end of day 1:

End of day 3:

I am enjoying this little man so much!

In other news...

Chanel is FINISHED and I've completed her photo shoot.
I will post her pictures on Sunday.
She's such a cutie!

I couldn't resist: Photo's of blank silicone Jazz!

I had some time in between the final touches on Chanel, so how could I resist taking pictures of Jazz??

I will let the pictures speak for themselves
(Warning NAKED anatomically correct doll pictures)

I am already in love and so excited to bring this one to life.

Full Body Silicone Jazz video!

Claire Taylor made a great video of the Artist Proof and the Prototype of
Full Body Silicone Jazz by Lilianne Breedveld.

I have been selected to reborn the prototype of Jazz and he is the second baby shown in this video...the lighter Caucasian toned doll.  Lilanne herself will be reborning the Artist Proof.

Please know that as artists, we encourage our collectors to handle their silicone dolls with care however, that is not displayed here in this video.
Claire shows how flexible silicone Jazz is as well as how secure his head is attached.
It looks a bit brutal, but I can promise that no silicone dolls were harmed in the making of this video.
MY prototype of Jazz arrived yesterday and he is PERFECT!  :)

I am still working on red-headed silicone Chanel by Joanna Kazmierczak for my customer who won the spot for a custom made doll.  I may be able to finish her rooting today.  My customer would love to have her to take on a trip November 16th.
For now, Jazz will sit tight in the studio...
