New Years Day DRAWING coming up!

For the last 5 years, I have done a drawing on New Years Day.

The names in the "hat" are those of collectors who have adopted dolls from me that prior year.

This year I have 14 names in that hat and I will draw the winner on New Years Day.

What does the winner win?

A spot for the only custom doll that I make each year AND $600 off the price of said doll  :)

I am very excited to see who will win!

Here are my end of the year stats:

In 2015, I created 6 vinyl dolls and sold 6 vinyl dolls.
One of those vinyl dolls was a prototype and all of them were painted with the new Baby FX paints.

I created 7 silicone dolls and sold 7 silicone dolls.
One of those was my first newborn size full body silicone, Hannah.

I sold one of my 2014 Christmas dolls in the start of 2015, a Create a Babies...Created.
I have absolutely no more of those sculpts to create.
The Create a Babies...Created series is permanently closed.

And I made one set of mice for my mother.

I taught one live class in 2015 and showed at two shows.

I processed as much mohair as I could...and sold it all as well.

And I built a dolly house and helped my husband build a tack shed for our horses!

It was a fabulous year and I look forward to 2016 and all that it will bring.

Happy New Year everyone!

Need a "little" baby fix??

Currently I have FOUR silicone babies ready for hair...

3 micro's and one newborn size.

I hope and pray to finish rooting Jazz by the end of tomorrow.
It has been intense but oh my.  OH MY!  He is truly gorgeous and that hair....
OH MY!

With all of my time spent on Jazz, there isn't much else to share right now so I snapped a couple of pictures of this wee little one:

Isn't she sweet?
Her face could easily be a boy but since she is anatomically correct her body cannot!

This is "Sage", a 10 inch full body micro preemie silicone with a ball jointed head by Sherri Williams.

I am thinking strawberry blonde hair  :)

"A Mother's Delight" Mice for my Mom

I have been working on this little project for the last few nights as a gift for my Mom.

They are tiny silicone mice sculpted and poured by Melissa McCrory.

I've had them for a couple of years waiting to find the time to reborn them for Mom.

The joy on this mama mouse's face as she swoons over her newborn baby is priceless!

Baby Mouse is so very, very content under the sheltering love of her mother.

And all is right in the world  :)

First peek at Jazz with hair

A little bit of hair that is!

But, I made some progress after I took these pictures yesterday morning.

I rarely do dark hair babies and I had an entirely different color planned for Jazz but he made it clear that this is the color for him.

I am in love with this little man!

Just love him!

A Christmas Dolly House picture story!

Well now.  Mmy story ended up much bigger than I thought it would and as much as I dislike posting links for you to follow, I think it will be easier to enjoy on the Doll Fan forum as the pictures are already full size and easy to read...well, that is if you can read baby talk  :)

For your enlightenment though, here are a few pictures from the story with the link below.

(Anyone can read, only members can respond)

I also built a snowman over the weekend (MY weekends are Friday and Saturday) and took pictures of our horses eating the treats I put on the snowman for buttons, mouth and nose.
That was a blast!

It was a wonderful weekend full of play and relaxation!

Now...back to work on Jazz!

Little peeks coming tomorrow  :)

Hugs!

Progress on the Dolly House....DONE!!!!

I have not done a good job keeping the blog updated with the Dolly House progress but I am more than thrilled to announce that it is FINISHED!

Let me give you a little before and after tour...

I began researching the purchase of the Dolly House in November of 2014.
On December 8, 2014, I ordered the house from the builders.

They nearly had it done by Christmas but with illnesses of their roofer and unstable weather/ground thaw, the delivery could not take place until January 15, 2015.

Here it is the day they brought the building:

They came back later to level the house up on blocks and tie it down all to the inspectors specifications.  Here is is the day it passed inspection:

It took me months to get the skirting  and brick work up and all of the gravel moved back around the building and the ditches for the underground electrical wiring finished.
I could not be happier with how it turned out though  :)

The inside of the building on January 15, 2015:

The bay then.....

The bay as of December 7, 2015:

The back then....

The back now....

The long wall then....

The entry area then....

The entry area now...

It has been a journey!

Now for window treatments and moving in.
I think I need a rest first  :)

Jazz head matted!

I am so pleased with how it turned out!

I am still working on his body but I've selected hair color and his hair should start "growing" today :)

I also got little Sage's head matted!

She is a 10 inch full body silicone by Sherri Williams.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Heading towards matting with Jazz prototype!

Working with a full body silicone is a LONG process but I'm finally ready to matte!

I was having a very difficult time with his nails so I decided to bathe him as I was finding a lot of long white, fuzzy hairs on his fingers.  I don't know where they came from, probably some fabric in the studio.  Silicone is so static that the hairs just fly from anywhere!

So...since I needed to bathe him anyway, I thought I should take some pictures of him dressed and taking a bath!

(His nails are not done in these pictures but they are done now and I'll start sealing then matting today!  I probably won't be able to quite finish matting his body but I'll get close.)

Such a precious baby!
