Tavi hair update. Amazing what a little more hair can do...

I do not yet know what his final style will be and I suspect there will be a few options, but I am loving his hair like this:

2-3 more days of rooting then he'll be ready for his photo and video shoot.

Rooting madness

There is just no way around it.

Rooting takes FOREVER!

Still working on Tavi and feeling like I am getting nowhere.

Poke, Poke, Poke...

Sharing my Collection Friday: I might be dolly pregnant...

It is true.

A new baby will be arriving possibly tomorrow, most likely on Monday.

After all, there is always room for just ONE more....

RIGHT?!?!?!?!

Might as well do two Marita Winters babies

When working with vinyl, I make it a habit not to work on more than one doll at a time.

But sometimes it just makes practical sense to work on a full size and a mini in conjunction with each other, especially if I am going for an ethnic tone and using Genesis paints.

So, I introduce to you, Sebastian, created from Marita Winters "Katie" 10" kit.

He is in line for hair and will be available at the Sauder Village Doll and Teddy Bear Show

Have a good Thursday!

Update on Tavi

I may still do some minor paint adjustments to Tavi's color but here he is at the moment:

My goal for Tavi was that he be a light ethnic/bi-racial baby.

He is currently getting hair  :)

The Tavi kit, by Marita Winters, is available for pre-order right now and will be in stock
later this week, as we understand it.

Have a fabulous day!

Internet it down, Sauder Village Registration is up!

My internet has been off and on again for three days now, I just managed to catch a lucky spot in order to post that the Sauder Village Workshop Registrations are up:

I am teaching a 2 day workshop called "Make the Switch"
(it is titled wrong on the page but you'll see me there)

And I have the ultimate honor of speaking at this years Saturday night banquet!

Okay, off to get a few more things done before my internet crashes again.
(New modem arriving today)

Hugs!

Back to Tavi

Well, when the oven element didn't show up on time,  I was already neck deep in mohair so I just continued on with that (however, I did finish baking Tavi and applied his matte varnish) but today, I am back to Tavi!

And, I have a long day to work on him as my husbands schedule has changed to the summer schedule of 10 hour days.

I LOVE 10 hour days as I get so much more done.

And, I love working 4 ten hour days and having three days off for the weekend  :)

Have a glorious day.

Lilianne Breedveld silicone kits!

In the mail the other day, I received a Lilianne Breedveld "Poppy" silicone kit.
This one is a commissioned order that will be started right after Tavi is on eBay.

She will be an Irish little lass named Poppy Irelyn.
Of course, I had to play with her and the custom made outfit her "mommy" sent for her to go home in:

Isn't she just as cute as can be???

Well, since I had her out to play with, I decided to get my Lilianne Breedveld "Precious" kit out
and play with her a bit.
Poor baby.  I've had her for quite some time and have not yet begun to reborn her.

Claire Taylor poured both of these kits for Lilianne.
The silicone is PERFECT!  Not a detail was overlooked.
The nostrils are deep as are the ear canals.  The fingers and toes are exeptional with perfect detail and no random beads of silicone.

I am so pleased and so anxious to work on them.

Body adjustments...

Back in November, I purchased a DARLING reborn doll from a very young
(14 year old) budding artist.

I named her Madison:
When I "adopted" her, I knew already that she would need a different body.
I could tell from her pictures.
Her arms were too long, her torso too short and her legs were too close to her torso and off to the side too much.

Here she is "nakie" in the body she arrived with:

Because her sculpt has a shoulder, she does not need caps in her arms.

I ordered the body that was created for her sculpt, "Crystal" from Bountiful Baby
but I felt the torso on that body was much too short and not chubby enough.

So, I ordered a custom Chelle body and finally had time to replace her body.
Chelle knows that I like a chubby body and that I like the body to have extra room so that the doll moves well with it's weighting material inside.

I think I ordered the leg caps too large so I may change those out some day when I have time.

I ended up putting a little tuck in her chest and dressed her all up:

Doesn't she remind you of an old fashioned baby and portrait?
I should have put high top walkers on her!  :)

I love baby Madison.

Brittany Strydom re-rooted

Whew...
Am I ever glad to have this giant head finished!

This is Brittany by Romie Strydom from a few years back.
She belongs to my best customer who requested that I re-root her.

I forgot to take "before" pictures.
This is one while she was in progress.
She can wear her hair straighter like this:

But her "mommy" preferred it curly:

She a sweet little angel she is!
