Prototype Xavi is ready for hair! Come see this darling!

One of my friends on Facebook said, "but you love all of the babies" when I said how much I love Xavi.

Well, her statement is true but I really, REALLY love Xavi!

He is poured by Claire Taylor in one full piece in soft-blend silicone.

His neck is not ball jointed but is super flexible and awesome!  

He is 18 1/2 inches and weighs 5 pounds 7 ounces.  

He is such an adorable preemie!

The prototype has arrived here and oh my...is he ever adorable!!!  

And flexible!

I took some time to get to know him by doing a little photo shoot before I began to clean him and paint him.

Xavi is 17 inches long, poured into one solid piece of soft blend silicone.  He is anatomically correct and has a flexible neck.  

I adore him!!  

I will begin to bring this darling little chap to life today :)

I have finished combing, washing, rinsing, combing and double rinsing this Huacaya Alpaca hair and have the pretty locks available in my 

ARTFIRE SHOP

now.

 I did do a little test rooting on a mini silicon that I am reborning for myself.  I used the Auburn "Sienna" hair right at the front of her head.  (The carrot shades are mohair that I are the colors I have chosen for her.  I will be pulling the Alpaca out as it does not go well with her tone but I had to try the hair before I sell!)

The hair in the photos is shown just rooted (quickly) and has not been sprayed with water or anything else.  See how straight it is??

After I took these photos, I did spray the hair down with water (something I always do while rooting) and allowed it to dry.  Last night, I combed and brushed the hair this way and that.  It laid flat and was smooth and soft.  The hair did not break and I was rough with it.  I am quite pleased!  

The hair is really light-weight and fine.  It will not take a lot of it to finish a head.  

I'd love to know what you think and what your experiences have been in the past with this type of Alpaca hair.

Coming this week to TNGUN....premium ALPACA hair!

I am noticing more and more artists using alpaca for their dolls hair.  

I actually like to use alpaca on some of my dolls as well.  

I was contacted by one of my dearest sculpting artist friends with the information of a lady that has GORGEOUS raw alpaca hair.  I have received my samples and I can't be any more excited!  

I will have a little bit of Alpaca to offer later this week and plan to make this a regular in my

 ArtFire shop

Nova's been on eBay

Nova has been adopted!


I placed Nova on eBay last Tuesday morning, September the 11th.  

So far, she has had two bidders that I have had to cancel due to previous issues on eBay or being brand spanking new with no feedback and no prior contact to bidding.

Sigh...I sure do long for the good ol' days of eBay, don't you??

And I'm back! Vacation was wonderful!

Everyone should take a vacation from time to time.  For us, it had been far too long!  

We had such a relaxing time...we had no schedules, no appointments, no agendas...we just went with the moments that the days brought us!

Now I am back to work and once again have Nova up for auction bid on my Facebook page.  

eBay was giving me fits and while I waited for a solution to my problems, I just went with it on my page.
