Would you like an artist baby for $268?

I have GREAT news!

You can get a Tinkerbell Nursery, They Never Grow Up Nursery, a Bushel and a Peck Nursery, Melissa George MG Art Dolls artist baby doll for roughly $268!!

Oh wait, I am sorry.
Shoot.  I guess this seller is just using those artists photos to gain custom orders for those sculpts.
Rats.  I thought I hit the jackpot.  I was going to order one of my own!

Yes, I am being very sarcastic because I am very annoyed.  I found this seller through a contact from one of my followers on Facebook.  She saw a listing that used my Huggy Bear Prototype pictures and was VERY excited at the thought of getting that baby for $268.  Turns out, the listing was for a custom of Huggy Bear but the seller never even showed her own work in the listing.

When I wrote to the owner of the listing and the Website above (Emma), she replied that she is not doing anything wrong in her listing as she states the pictures are prototype pictures and that she has a "link" to her Facebook page where she shows her work.

Well, the "link" was not a link at all as you are not permitted to do that in eBay listings and I had to find that Facebook page on my own.  She does show her work there but she also has a recent post stating that she has new kits added to eBay listings and uses images from other artists in that post.

Granted, she did remove the listing for Huggy Bear but after examining her website (link above) I saw that she is using many artist pictures (all of the above mentioned plus many others) on her site, again not showing any of her own work at all.

I am sorry, it is NEVER okay to use other artist pictures to gain custom orders.  Never.

Please be careful out there.  If it is too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

Began 2 new babies with Baby FX

I really do love these paints!!!

I began work on the Denver Rose prototype by Marita Winters as well as a Mathilda kit by Joanna Kazmierczak using Baby FX paints yesterday.

My work has been joyous and stress free.

Denver Rose is a wonderful, beautiful kit!  I had time to take some pictures of her blank kit on her body the other day and she is just so adorable and poses so nicely!  She fits Carter's Baby preemie and newborn size clothes as well as Carter's Just One Year (Target brand) newborn size.  I simply love her.

And Mathilda???  Oh my goodness!  That is the first vinyl kit in several years that I have purchased.  With prototypes, silicones and the silicone custom order list that I had opened for a short time, I just didn't have time for new vinyl kits.

I am so glad I bought this kit!!!!  This baby is going to be darling and big.
HE will be going to the ROSE show as well.

I have decided that I am not going to fully show the ROSE show babies.
I may give upclose peeks of the skin tones, hair etc, but not the full baby.
I think leaving some anticipation of the show will be fun!

Again the basic formula that I have been using for the Baby FX paints is
1 drop of paint, 5 drops of slow dry, 15 drops of water.
I adjust that as needed.  If I need a thicker paint for details etc, I use less slow dry and water, if I need it thinner, more slow dry and water.

And I love using the "Last Coat" in details such as eye brow, hair and nail beds.  The Last Coat makes the paint super thick with texture.  I love that stuff!

Rooting on sweet girl Little Warrior, now Tabitha, is going well, but slow!
I've been breaking up my time between rooting, mohair processing and painting.
Hopefully my time this morning rooting will bring me very close to having her head finished.
I can't wait to offer this darling petite one up!

Have a stellar Tuesday!!

Denver Rose

I am very excited and pleased to announce that the Denver Rose prototype #1/4 has arrived to the studio!

I will begin painting this precious kit by Marita Winters next week but there won't be any peeks of her until her reveal of all 4 prototypes in my class at the ROSE show.

YES!!!  All FOUR prototypes will be on hand for viewing in one place!
Isn't that exciting??

4 spaces remain for my class!

Just THIS much left!

Now, don't panic, I AM working too but on my weekend and during part of the working days I have been tinkering in the dolly house.

And this is all that is left to sheetrock!!!!

This is the back wall in the big loft.

The entire ceiling is done (not mudded though) and 2/3 of the building are fully sheetrocked.

Whew!

And, I have processed a little bit of hair for a lost package and in preparation of the ROSE show and I have began rooting little miss Tabitha's (Little Warrior 1 silicone) hair.  I am loving it so far!

There are just 5 spaces remaining in my Make the Switch class at ROSE.
There were just 4 until last night when one student had to cancel.

Deadline is June 1st so that I am sure to get all needed supplies in time for my flight on July 11.

Life is GOOD.

What an adventure!!!

We made a lot of progress in the Dolly House this week!

1/3 of the house is FULLY sheetrocked while the other 2/3rds are very, very close to being done as well.  Some mud is up, some trim is up and it's looking....beautiful!

After this picture, I finished that small trim on the far right above the windows:

Mudding stressed me out at first but I think I am getting the hang of it.
What a difference the mud makes!  WOW!

I am so excited!

I got a little mohair processed yesterday but then found myself back out in the Dolly House.

I can see it now and it is going to be beautiful!!!
