New baby almost ready!

Wow, I sure thought I would finish rooting little Ashleigh on Thursday but I didn't. 
I have over 50 hours into that head but the wait is going to be worth it!

I have just a tiny little section at her crown and her temple hairs to root.  By lunch she will have her hair sealed and her lashes and gloss finished.  

I can't wait to introduce her to you!

Last week at this time, I was anxiously awaiting the auction of my dream silicone baby to begin.  

I almost could not breathe!  

Her auction started with bids right away.  I put in a couple of bids and was in pure bliss as the highest bidder...for about 22 hours!  LOL

I had a budget for her, which was much more than I should ever spend on a doll, but she is a dream baby.  The sculpt, Ellie by Bonnie Brown paired with the perfection of brush by Kris at the Dainty Loft simply took my breath away.

My budget was overtaken quite fast in the auction and now she is well beyond that.  

I won't be bringing this precious one home for Christmas but I can rejoice that someone is going to get an amazing baby.

Sharing my Collecton Friday~Christmas 2012

I changed 49 babies and took at least 70 pictures of my collection!

I think the easiest way to do this (as I don't have as much time today as I thought I might~I have a grand girl coming over to play later  :)  is to post a few pictures and then the links to Doll Fan where I posted most of the pictures and shared what each doll is (a reborn, OOAK, Silicone etc...)

So here we go...a little tour of the nursery as it looks right now.  What  delight to open the door and see these sweet babies all dressed up!  (Click on each picture to make it full size to see better)

1st clip kid hair!

My visit to the goat farm was lovely, as always!

 I didn't take pictures this time as we didn't even go see the goats because it was raining and icky, plus, I had a lot of goat hair to sort through and decide on.  However,  Sue, my farmer,  took this picture a week or so ago:

I ended up with 1st clip clippings from NINE baby kids!  I believe this is the most baby kid hair I've ever been able to buy.  Sue has been increasing her stock.  Although she won't have any kid hair in the spring, she is expecting at least 20 kid goats next fall! 

This is very exciting!

Angora Goat farm visit today!

Finally, the time has arrived for me to make my journey to the angora goat farm to make my final selection of the fall clippings.  

This ALWAYS excites me!  

I had put money down on 8 goat's fibers while it was still on the goats.  Today I am permitted to make the final choice of the best hairs.  There are 8 additional batches of hair that my lovely farmer thinks I might be interested in so that is exciting as well! 

She tells me that due to switching out her heard, there won't be any kid hair available in the spring so I better buy all that I can now.  Can't wait to see it all!

I finally have the back and sides of her hair rooted and have started on the top.  

I do hope to finish her rooting Wed and Thurs.

Little peek of Nala Faber

Nala Faber is painted!

She is a vinyl kit that I have wanted to reborn for so long now~I am thrilled she is this far along in the process.

I had a difficult time getting good pictures of her yesterday so here is just one picture that wasn't too bad.

I've draped the lock of hair over her head just so that you could see the color that her hair will be.

For her painting process, I have first coated her with the FolkArt Glass and Tile Medium, then painted her with Art and Magic Water Borne air dry paints.  

She turned out very lovely with no shine.  

What a chunky little love she will be!
