In Orlando!

Hi everyone!
I have safely arrived in Orlando Florida....to a tropical storm! It was awesome!

One of my room mates and I seriously JUST got into our hotel room when it hit. We turned off all of the room lights and watched in delight. You see, we do not get tropical storms on the West Coast! LOL

Today was just beautiful. We had no real plans and simply took a walk on the nature path around the hotel, visited with Jill Jackson. retired editor of Doll Reader magazine. We ran into a couple of collectors and our friend Jacque, a reborn artist. Of course it is always so much fun to carry our dolls around and strike up conversations with other people here at the hotel. This hotel is huge and supports many different conventions through-out the year. And we soaked in the hot tub this afternoon....in the sunshine. For those who live in colder climates, like the three of us (Debbie, Becky and Sally), standing outside in January with bare feet is just thrilling! And it is just so gorgeous! I have not downloaded pictures just yet but when I do, I will share. We are having problems getting onto the internet in our room so have to keep taking our laptops downstairs to the lobby and I keep forgetting to take care of the downloading before I leave the room.

Tomorrow, many more artists and collectors will be filtering into the hotel. The Thursday before IDEX is always a very exciting day here at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort!

Hugs

So maybe he is not Asian!

What do you think....Asian or Hispanic/Latino?
This is baby Lee. He was supposed to be Asian but most are thinking he is of Spanish decent. Even his mommy see that in him (she loves him anyway!).
I think I need to take lessons in Asian babies LOL!

Either way, I am pleased with his outcome. I tried something new (for me anyway...I do not know if others have done this). Many babies have hair that sticks to the front line of their heads. That hair just does not come up off the scalp and looks like under-hairs. I wanted to obtain that look with Lee so I have glued the front line of his hair and rooted the rest. I am very happy with it however, I learned a lot and will improve more the next time I use this technique.

This baby is 21 inches long with his bent legs! He is just darling and has a chubby bellied body. Such a nice armful!

Oh yes, and I attempted rooting eyelashes again. I used to root lashes on my babies back when I started but I was never happy with the results. Rachel Maynard (Precious Little Babies) had an eye lash tutorial in Life-Like Dolls magazine that I found MOST helpful! These lashes are better than what I used to do and I'll continue to get better.

Lee is ready to travel to Orlando tomorrow and so is Josiah!

If you are attending IDEX, you can stop by Angela Harris' Table #39 to see him in person. He is the prototype of Angela's "Jenna" sculpt. All three prototypes will be at IDEX, which is very exciting to me! Josiah is available for adoption :)

And now...I am off! I will be traveling to a friends house today to be closer to the airport for my morning flight to IDEX/Orlando. I feel like a little kid, I am so excited! This is IDEX #5 for me and I am always so amazed that I am able to attend this amazing show!

I'll blog to you from Orlando!

Have a wonderful week!

TNGUN has a new website!

I am so thrilled to announce the launch of the new
They Never Grow Up Nursery Website!

I've needed to create a new site for about 2 years now and finally, I did! Of course it will be under construction for a while as I load all the baby pictures, but there are links there to point people to other places to view the pictures.

I leave tomorrow for an 8 day vacation so the website has to wait until I return. (I AM packed!)

Remember the custom Asian baby, Lee? Well, he is rooted and all final art details are completed. I will assemble him this afternoon (his gloss is drying) and snap some photo's of him to share tomorrow before I leave. He is adorable and I tried some new things on him.

Lee will meet his mommy on the plane en route to Orlando! How fun is that???

Cheers!
Debbie

HUGE list to complete before Monday!

Wow the final days before leaving for IDEX are here! I have a million things to do!!

I finished processing the mohair and have it listed Artfire. I will be putting the listings on hold come Monday morning and taking the mohair that is not sold to IDEX.

I am still working on getting Lee, the little Asian boy, rooted. I plan on delivering him to his mommy on the plane enroute to IDEX.

And the website is running and safe. However it is time to build a new site as the old site is, well, old and has been attacked many times to where it is getting difficult to fix. And this time, I'll be running the site myself. Time to be a big girl!

Alright...I am off to tackle that To Do list!

Hugs!

UPDATE on TNGUN website

UPDATE on WEBSITE: Things are fine on the site. It WAS reported as a bad site but my webmaster has been through it and checked it inside and out and the site is totally safe. Please feel free to browse at your leisure.

TNGUN

Thank you!

TNGUN website has been hacked!

Please do not go to my website theynevergrowupnursery.com until further notice.

It has been hacked. My computer blocks the page and I've been told by others that their firewalls and protective software are blocking the page (meaning it can't do damage) but please, do not take a chance on it in case your protection mechanisms are not strong enough.

My webmaster will be working to solve the problem and we will let you know when it is safe again.

In the meantime, please contact me directly (tngun05@gmail.com) to inquire about available dolls or visit my Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience!

Thank you Dr. Phil!

Way back in 2008 Dr. Phil did a short segment on reborn doll artists and collectors being "obsessed" on his Obsessed program. (Be sure to watch the "Uncensored" cut where Dr. Phil give his opinion on the matter) Evidently this program was rerun recently and after viewing, one very nice lady told her husband "I have got to have one of those reborn dolls!".

She did a Google search and found me just a few entries down on the search. She loved my website with the many pictures posted there, and she contacted me. And, she has adopted THREE babies from me! Finally Jason, Capri and little Alaytheea have a loving home! I love when my babies can remain together so I am delighted!

Off to send some babies home!

Happy hugs!
