Going on vacation....NEED a vacation!

Tomorrow I am headed to Tuscon Arizona to spend some time with one of my collectors who became a dear friend. She has 21 of my babies and many are not signed as I did not start signing until 2009. So I'm going to get myself a great case of "writer's cramp" and to just enjoy a little down time.

We are having a dolly "baby shower" on Saturday with other dolly ladies from the area. We are all SO excited! I get to meet a lady I've known on the internet via body sales for a long time now and also get to meet another young gal who I've been helping reborn over the "net". There are 3 other gals I've met before and am anxious to see them again. It's going to be GREAT!

I've felt a bit off my axis this week. I think I need a break. Even packing my bag is a huge chore! Of course I want to bring plenty of babies from my own collection but I'm having a hard time getting them and my personal things in the one bag and keeping it under the max weight. This should be interesting!

I'll be back late on Monday and I'll get back to blogging as soon as I can.

Have many terrific days!

Combing mohair and rooting

That is about all that is going on! I'll finish combing out/processing the last of the mohair this morning. I've been rooting Nicky in the night and wow...I've got about 6 hrs on her now and hardly any hair! She's going to take forever.

I think I'll give my body a rest this afternoon and paint on a budget baby kit. And I think I'll put off rooting until I return from my Tuscon trip. The laundry has piled up, I need to pack and prepare food for DH. Putting Robyn aside will relieve some of the overwhelmed feeling I have today.

Thursday I'm leaving on a jet plane.....

Precious Little Baby Dust DVD and New Prototype

I am so excited!

The rooting DVD by Precious Little Baby Dust has been shipped to me and the new prototype "Nicky Jack" by Nikki Britt will be on his way to me today or tomorrow! This sounds like PERFECT timing and a perfect match.

I have been having a blast shopping on Etsy for darling hats and cocoons for upcoming prototypes. There are a lot of creative people on Etsy!

That's really all I can think about today. My mind is on my visit and dolly day coming up in Tuscon later this week! Oh happy day!

Hugs!

Did you miss me? Robyn is painted!

So...DID you miss me?? LOL Sorry to have run out on you all like that~we took an unplanned trip out of town. We had a one time pass into the NIKE employee store for an unabated shopping trip and we decided that it was now or never, so we left! It was awesome!

Status on Robyn:

Here she is with her first blushing done and a color sample of hair draped over her head:

I am going to like it very much!

And here she is as I left her on Thursday and ran out the door...she is all painted!

I've painted just a guide of painted hair all over and some detailed painted hair around her face line:

I don't know about you...but I'd be quite alright having that happy face greet me every morning!

Today will find me down at the Gallery doing my donation of "Gallery Sitting". I love that job! I'll be combing out some custom order mohair but hope to get enough combed out to offer hair for sale later this week.

Have a great day!

Buidling baby's outfit

Part of the reborn process that I LOVE is building the baby's outfit. I especially love it when I can create an amazing outfit on a tight budget.

Let's walk through dressing "Rory", my personal reborn, to see how this outfit pulls together.

I start with a simple and inexpensive long sleeve creeper (Gerber gets upset if we use the term "onsie" when speaking of other brands) and fleece pant set from Walmart. This Garanimals set cost $3.50 per separate for a total of $7

Then I added a pair of darling bear socks and fleece scratch mitts. I purchased the socks and mitts as a set at Ross for $3.99. They were the only set there. (I bought them first which put me on the hunt for the coordinating pants and shirt which Garanimals so perfectly fit the bill.)

But I felt the set needed something more. That took me to Etsy to find a hat. This hat was SO cute and a perfect match! It was $16.75 shipped.

Is that just not the cutest?!?!?!
So the total outfit/look cost $27.74 and it's amazing, in my humble opinion. :)

Dressing your reborn is a fun and exciting mission as you browse and shop for just the perfect outfit and accessories. Have fun in your venture!

The Gallery Window Display

Wow what a fun time I had yesterday!
I'm so pleased with how the display turned out.

Logan and Leah, seen in the above picture are RIGHT at the front of the window. I already had people stopping dead in their tracks yesterday wondering WHY those babies were laying there in the window! This should be a fun 2 months. I hope to change the scene next month to a Christmas theme.

Around the back side of the red divider are an original Matthew and my reborn Lil' Cowboy Matthew. This spot turned out so perfect with the rustic Grandfather clock already in the display.

Here are some close ups:
Capri

She is at the front of the window too but not quite as dramatic as she is in the Moses basket.

Jason and Cody:

Logan and Leah

The light stand and all the baby goodies:

Artsy-Fartsy:

Little Alaytheea admiring her pretty self. I didn't get a great shot of her reflection as I could not get in close enough without showing myself or some of the outside in the mirror but when onlookers view her, they can see her fully as she gazes at herself in glee. The mirror says "Pretty as a Picture"

My portrait baby, Baby Jena:

Just sweet:

All of the babies are for sale/adoption except for the actual reborns of Jena and Matthew. They are however advertising custom orders for Portraits and a lil' cowboy.

Now...back to working on Robyn!
