Hello wonderful dolly people! Thank you so much to those of you who gave a gift for my husbands "hair shaving" event to help raise money for the American Cancer Society in conjunction with Oregon's Hood to Coast relay race.
Yesterday, the $500 donation level was reached! The hair is coming off! THANK YOU! During the process of this challenge, a friend asked if the mustache would be coming off as well. My sweet husband said that he would consider it for another $500 in donations so....the journey has begun! And the donations are coming in! With only $465 left to reach the $1000 mark, I think the mustache will be coming off too! If you would like to donate to the "cause", here is his personal link: personal page
We will be taking pictures of the hair shaving event on Wednesday night August 25th, the night before we leave for the Hood to Coast event. I will be sure to share :)
Again thank you for your support~Dolly Friends are amazing!
WOWEEEEE! I am in shock as I can't believe I have Angelica/Kendall rooted! (well okay, I have to do just a LITTLE bit more tonight~just fill in a spot or two but overall, she is rooted!)
I don't think I mentioned that when we traveled to Mt Hood and Portland over the weekend that I took Kendall's head and rooted on her in the car. OH man~I had hair EVERYWHERE in that car! LOL
So I don't have any pictures yet to share and it might be a few days as I must work on the prototype Fawn but you'll see her soon enough.
***************UPCOMING EVENTS****************
Where DO I start??
I guess the first thing coming up is the deadline for my EXPO class. It is September 1st and a $75 deposit is due then. I MUST have the deposit and the registration then so that I can order supplies and know my full class count.
Isn't she just majestic and beautiful? That is Mt. Hood in Oregon. That is where the Hood to Coast race that my family is involved in will start...in just 12 days.
We drove up Mt. Hood on Friday on our way to visit our daughter and son-in-law. Yes, that is snow on that mountain on August 13th. Just at the base of the snow line is where I will do my volunteer work for Hood to Coast. It helped me to see just where I would be working. I can't wait!

Baby Zak has had his pictures taken, will be put on the website this morning and will be wrapped up for his journey to EXPO.
Such a cute little Mite!
The Fawn Prototype arrived on Thursday so I will be starting her today. I am excited!
Tomorrow I'll share all the upcoming events and tentative events. The beginning stages of planning are happening for a full reborn class in Stephenville TX and one in Baker City Oregon. Stay tuned.....
Fawn will be my last prototype to complete before EXPO.
When I return home from EXPO on October 5th, I will have to begin work right away on Jorja Piggot's Sydney. Sydney will be ready before I leave for EXPO but we have put her on hold due to my trip.
Jorja does not have her up for pre-order just yet. I'll post the link when she becomes available.
After Sydney will be Nicky Jack by Nikki Britt. Oh....he is LOVELY! Such an amazing newborn!
And somewhere along the line I will be reborning Dianna Effner's first vinyl kit prototype, Huggy Bear:
He is a real cutie too. You can see a lot of "porcelain" qualities in him.
So that is the current line up. There are three paid customs yet on my list for 2010. I intend on having one of them done by the first part of November and the other two done by the end of the year. Then I have some kits I've purchased that I am so eager to do so I will be on a long custom order break :)
Hugs for Wednesday! PS...I still have that Fay kit from yesterday's post~$50 shipped to the first person who emails me.
I have a new "Fay" Doll Dreams kit (Danielle Zweers) that has been washed and has had the nostrils opened by me...very professionally done. I had intended to reborn Fay but I just don't have time. I will sell this kit, vinyl parts only, for $50 shipped in the US to the first person who emails me at tngun05@gmail.com. My overseas friends will have to help me with shipping.
Doll Dreams has Fay on sale right now for $59.90 for the vinyl parts only, but you would have to pay shipping and...the nostrils won't be open~see what a good deal this is? :) She is ready to start work on.
My email account will let me know who emailed first. Good luck ladies!

Please welcome Fussy Ryan into the world! He is a full 23" with his curved legs and weighs 7 1/2 pounds! Wow he is HUGE! I will do his real photo shoot later today~these are quick shots.
Miss Jalily is nearly painted. She just needs veins and a few last minute details.
I gave her a little tooth! Am still waiting to hear from her "Mommy" if she likes the tooth. I can still remove it as I've not glued it in yet.
She is so cute! She is painted just with LDC paints~no matte varnish or base of any kind. I am pleased with how her color has turned out.
Last night since I could not yet root JaLily, I brought out Angelica/Kendall's head again and rooted some on it. I might get her done someday! LOL
Awe...isn't he cute....and doesn't he have a TON of hair???
THAT is my dear husband Calvin. He has MEGA hair that he has been growing is since March 2009, for a few reasons. One is that he retired from the Military in August of 2008 so he "can" and two is that he now works as a 1840's interpreter of the Oregon Trail and they had longer hair back then. Well, he is willing to SHAVE off all that hair if he can raise $500 for the American Cancer Society in the upcoming "Hood to Coast" relay race. Please read the donation letter that he has sent out and follow the link if you would like to give:
Dear Friends,
Nike, my daughter, had a vision and desire to run the Hood to Coast Relay. I agreed to be on the team and registered as a team member. To our surprise our team made the draw. "Speedy Turtles" are on their way; training for the event in August 2010 (August 27-29....197 miles!). Oh, and 4 of the 12 team members are related to me. :)
Please click on the "personal page" link to support my efforts in raising money for the American Cancer Society. I am running in memory of Daniel Couzens, a past co-worker of mine who recently died of cancer.
If you would like to donate in the form of a check you can make it out to American Cancer Society and mail it to me: (email Debbie at tngun05@gmail.com for mailing address)
Thank you,
Calvin
To support me in my efforts, please visit my personal page and make a donation of whatever amount you can.

I am so very proud of him, Nike and the whole team for taking on this HUGE challenge. None of these great folks are athletes so this is an ultimate endeavor on their parts...and all for a good cause. Two of these runners, Calvin and his sister Debbie are over 50 yrs old :) GOooooooo TURTLES! Please help if you can :)
Would you look at that! A birds-eye view of most of my collection! There are 8 other babies in other places in the house. I had to stand...
